CCTV X FICFF「HARMONIC HERITAGE」SHOW
Against the backdrop of significant challenges such as resource waste and environmental pollution in the global fashion industry, advancing
sustainable development has become an essential industry mission. The "FASHION FOR FUTURE RUNWAY" emerged from this context. Through runway events, the FICFF Foundation aims to promote the concept of sustainable fashion worldwide, encouraging designers, brands,
and consumers to join this environmental transformation and drive the fashion industry towards a greener and more responsible future.
The first "FASHION FOR FUTURE RUNWAY" show took place in July 2024 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This show marked the first fashion event at the UN headquarters in decades, presented in collaboration between CCTV and FICFF.
This twenty-one-piece collection, designed by FICFF Green Thread Member Andy Yu, was inspired by the four great ancient civilizations, merging artistic expression with sustainable design principles. Each look reflected a deep respect for historical craftsmanship while embracing contemporary sustainability, reinforcing FICFF’s mission to empower designers in advancing conscious fashion.

Known for his extraordinary talent and deep commitment to preserving and advancing the art of jazz, Marsalis has earned widespread acclaim for his virtuosic performances and innovative compositions.
Over the course of his illustrious career, he has won nine Grammy Awards, spanning both jazz and classical categories. Marsalis made history as the first artist to win Grammys in both genres in the same year, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and groundbreaking artist.

Beyond Chinese culture, the collection expanded its focus to other ancient civilizations. One design, inspired by 18th-century depictions of daily life in Delhi, showcased a flowing white robe adorned with delicate gold chains, exuding both elegance and historical depth. Another look paid homage to the Maurya Empire, incorporating elements from its square coins into a golden ensemble, embellished with precisely arranged studs that shimmered like artifacts preserved through time.
Ancient Mesopotamian stone carvings were reimagined in a textured, stone-colored design featuring three-dimensional floral patterns, softened by flowing fabrics to represent how civilizations evolve yet remain timeless. The collection’s finale drew inspiration from the lotus flower, a symbol deeply rooted in both Egyptian and Chinese cultures. The design featured a bold metallic floral upper, crafted from recycled materials, and a reflective fabric lower half, symbolizing the connection between ancient aesthetics and a sustainable future.
Through this collection, FICFF underscores its mission to provide designers with the resources, mentorship, and platform needed to bring their creative visions to life. The Harmonic Heritage collection embodies FICFF’s values of sustainability and cultural preservation, reinforcing the foundation’s belief that fashion is a powerful medium for global change.
